Chiang Rai Creative Cities Photo Contest Event 

The city of Chiang Rai was nominated by the Thai government to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) project. Chiang Rai together with Mae Fah Luang University and the Mekong Culture WELL project at Michigan State University, has organized a photo contest to uncover the voices of local Chiang Rai people through the eye of photography. Anyone can participate; professionals and amateurs alike are encouraged to submit photographs that reflect one of two themes:  "The Beauty of the Mekong" or "The Livelihoods of People Along the River." All photos were submitted by October 30th, 2021. The project received 90 submissions and issued 32 awards.
